Di Marzio claims Spurs could still move for Dutch defender

Tottenham Hotspur could still make a move for Sven Botman this summer, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The north Londoners are reported to be in the market for a left-sided central defender ahead of the new season and have been heavily linked with a move for Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni.

Botman is currently under contract at Lille until the summer of 2025 and is also on the radar of AC Milan and Newcastle United, while Manchester United could also turn their attention to the Dutchman.

Newcastle co-owner Amanda Staveley claimed in February that Botman wanted to join the Magpies during the winter transfer window, only for a deal to fail to materialise (The Athletic).

It appears that Bastoni seems to be Tottenham’s primary defensive transfer target and it is hardly surprising to hear they could also be interested in Botman given the way Fabio Paratici likes to negotiate for multiple players at any one time.
